Green House Namaste Coffeeshop

Small, Cozy and Luxurious

This is the smallest Green House Coffeeshop in Amsterdam. It is located near the Amstel river, on Waterlooplein or Waterloo Square, which is named after the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The National Opera and Ballet House, Rembrandt House Museum, and the Jewish Historical Museum are located right next to the coffeeshop.

Green House Namaste

This coffeeshop is also known as Green House Namaste – a greeting in Hindu culture.

Green House Namaste is Located next to the Waterloo Market

The daily flea market on the square is the oldest flea market of Amsterdam. Waterlooplein was created in 1882 when the Leprozengracht and Houtgracht canals were filled in. The square became a marketplace when the city government decided that the Jewish merchants in the nearby Jodenbreestraat and Sint Antoniebreestraat had to move their stalls to the square. The Waterlooplein became a daily market (except on Saturdays, the Jewish sabbath) in 1893.
